Covid 19 – Library Closure Announcement

Due to the spread of the Covid-19 infection in Malaysia and a directive from the Government of Malaysia by Movement Control Order which is imposed under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 and as well as the Police Act 1967, the Library is taking a proactive measure to deter any further infection and ensuring the well being of our staff and library users.

Effective from Wednesday, 18th March 2020 until 31st March 2020, Library premises will be closed to the public. (For details of opening hours, click here!). Library users are advised to plan in advance of their visit due to the new arrangement and making sure the borrowing items are either return or renew during the affected date to avoid complication such as fines.

During the closure of libraries, we are making the following changes:

  • We encourage everyone to explore alternative resources such as the online resources and digital materials available in our website which covers ebooks, journals, digital collections etc
  • We will explore ways to provide limited services in the near future, and will communicate those options as soon as possible.
  • Further announcement will be made related to the opening hours of the Library based on the current situation or a directive from the UUM Management Board or the Government authorities.
