Serial are print or non-print or electronic publications which issued in parts, usually bearing issue numbers and/or dates. It is published periodically such as annually, monthly, weekly, daily and etc. A serial is expected to continue indefinitely. Serials include magazines, journals, newspapers, annuals (such as reports, yearbooks and directories).
Current Periodicals
A current periodical is a current issues which is recently received. It is arranged at the magazines shelves in serial department.
Bound Periodicals
A bound periodical has the appearance of a hardcover book but contains multiple issues of a journal. After a library accumulates issues of a journal over the course of a year, or perhaps two years, it typically sends the journals issues to the bindery where the issues are joined together under one cover. It is arranged at the bookshelves in serial department.
